The People's Liberation Army Navy hospital ship Jixiang Fangzhou (Ark of Good Fortune) departs from a military port in Qingdao, Shandong province, on Wednesday to begin Harmonious Mission 2026, its first overseas humanitarian medical mission. During the more than 200-day voyage, the vessel, China's third domestically built 10,000-metric-ton-class hospital ship, will visit countries in Africa and South Asia, providing free medical services to local communities.
