State Grid Huinong District Company conducts high-voltage inspections to boost power safety
The State Grid Huinong District Company in Shizuishan city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region organized specialized teams from its distribution network and marketing departments to conduct the first round of high-voltage customer electricity special inspection services in various residential communities within its jurisdiction on July 9.
The initiative aims to standardize the operation and maintenance of 10 kV high-voltage customer equipment and reduce customer-side fault trips and power outage issues, ensuring safe and reliable power supply for local residents.
Following a comprehensive preliminary survey of power consumption in the jurisdiction, the company established and improved four categories of inspection lists. Communities with frequent faults and concentrated complaints were designated as the first batch of key service targets. Simultaneously, areas including Anle Bridge Village, Jixing Urban Classic Community, and Shuichang Community were coordinated to formulate phased diagnostic implementation plans, achieving targeted and precise inspections.
During on-site operations, company staff strictly followed the special inspection standards of the State Grid Ningxia Company to verify the protection settings of community demarcation switches, equipment selection parameters, and the coordination of upper and lower level protection grading.
They employed professional methods such as infrared thermography and ultrasonic partial discharge detection to conduct comprehensive live testing of key equipment including community distribution transformers, switchgear, cable lines, and terminal connections. Additionally, they meticulously inspected community property maintenance records, electrician certification qualifications, emergency power supply configurations, and fire and flood prevention measures to address shortcomings in customer-side operation and maintenance management.
This special inspection service achieved remarkable results. A total of 16 distribution equipment units were inspected, identifying various types of electricity safety hazards including equipment aging and mismatched protection settings, as well as one general hazard. Three issues were rectified on-site immediately.
For the remaining hazards, proper management was notified on-site, and a formal electricity diagnostic report was issued specifying rectification standards and completion deadlines.
Furthermore, company staff has also informed the residents about safe electricity usage, equipment maintenance, and emergency fault response procedures, answering electricity consultation inquiries on-site.
Moving forward, the State Grid Huinong District Company will continue to promote comprehensive coverage of electricity diagnostics in key communities within its jurisdiction, normalize hazard follow-up visits and fault review work, optimize grid protection configurations and setting parameters, and establish a sound long-term mechanism for collaborative governance between power supply and consumption. These efforts will effectively enhance the safe and stable operation level of the distribution network, safeguarding residents' daily electricity needs with precise and high-quality power services.
