Container port in Xiamen model for automated operations
Beyond unmanned systems, facility continues to evolve by embracing latest technology
Beyond the loading and unloading of cargo, the terminal has been deeply synergized with COSCO Shipping Investment (Xiamen) Supply Chain Development Co to create a seamless "Port + Supply Chain" ecosystem. This collaboration breaks the boundaries of single-terminal operations. Leveraging 377,100 square meters of port-adjacent assets, the supply chain platform offers comprehensive end-to-end services.
A standout achievement is the establishment of a full-chain one-stop service center for vehicle exports, which includes Xiamen's first used car export registration service station. This center provides complete supporting processes, including pre-delivery inspection, ownership transfer and cancellation, warehousing, container stuffing, maritime booking and customs declaration.
Furthermore, the platform has vigorously developed cross-border e-commerce and regional trade routes. A key highlight is the express shipping route to China's Taiwan island under the framework of the "three direct links" of trade, transport and postal services across the Taiwan Strait. Launched in July 2024, this express shipping route has become a high-speed channel for cross-strait cargo, completing 263 voyages and carrying nearly 62,000 TEUs by May 2026.
To support global reach, a cross-border e-commerce consolidated warehouse — operated by Xiamen Jiagong Logistics under COSCO Shipping Investment — utilizes both bonded and non-bonded models to accelerate the overseas expansion of "Made in Xiamen" products.
Through continuous technological iterations and supply chain integrations, the terminal not only solidifies Xiamen Port's status as a leading international shipping hub, but also injects robust momentum into the high-quality, outward-looking economic growth of the region.
