DPRK's premier of the cabinet to visit China
Pak Thae-song, premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, will lead a party and government delegation to China to pay an official visit from Friday to Sunday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning has announced.
Pak, also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, will attend the commemorative event of the 65th anniversary of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, Mao said at a daily news briefing on Thursday.
China and the DPRK have agreed to jointly hold commemorative activities to mark the 65th anniversary of the signing of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, she said.
Mao said China and the DPRK are traditional friendly neighbors, and that maintaining, consolidating and developing bilateral relations has always been an unswerving strategic policy of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.
China is ready to work with the DPRK, guided by the important common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, to strengthen strategic communication, expand exchanges and cooperation, and promote the continued development of China-DPRK traditional friendly and cooperative relations, she said.
