Operations begin on upgraded Unit 1 of Ilha Solteira Hydropower Project

The technical upgrade of Unit 1 at the Ilha Solteira Hydropower Project, operated by China Three Gorges Corporation in Brazil, was recently completed and officially began commercial operation.

The milestone marks the successful completion of the first unit within the third batch of technical upgrades for CTG Brazil's large-scale hydropower projects.

The successful commissioning and power generation of Unit 1 has laid a solid foundation for the implementation of technical transformations on subsequent units, it said.

Following this achievement, Unit 2 of the hydropower station was officially shut down, fully commencing its technical upgrade, it said.
