State Grid Huzhou enhances power supply with innovative solutions
Since the beginning of this month, the demand for electricity from both industrial production and household air conditioning has been rising significantly, keeping grid loads at elevated levels. To ensure a safe and stable power supply during the summer peak period, State Grid Huzhou Power Supply Company has seized the critical window of peak electricity consumption to optimize and upgrade the urban power grid infrastructure.
The company has introduced an innovative integrated power supply assurance model combining live-line work with mobile generator units, ensuring uninterrupted operations for enterprises within the industrial park throughout the grid renovation project.
In the Chengbei Park of Moganshan High-tech Zone, enterprises in new productive sectors such as chip manufacturing, biomedicine, and general aviation have clustered and flourished, pushing the grid's capacity to near saturation.
To meet the growing electricity demand from these companies' production expansion, State Grid Huzhou Power Supply Company has taken proactive measures with precise planning and launched a grid infrastructure optimization project. This initiative involves upgrading 2 kilometers of overhead lines, constructing 1.2 kilometers of new cable lines, establishing an inter-river power transmission link between Fuxi and other areas, and increasing the total power supply capacity of the pharmaceutical industrial park by 8 megawatts, ensuring robust resilience during this summer's peak electricity demand period.
This renovation project covers a wide area with high enterprise density, and the high-tech industries impose stringent requirements on power supply reliability and energy quality. State Grid Huzhou Power Supply Company strategically deployed three medium- and low-voltage mobile generators to establish a comprehensive, array-based emergency power supply network following the principles of zoned coverage and precise support.
Company staff completed load estimation and grid connection testing in advance. Utilizing wireless synchronous grid integration technology, the three generators were coordinated into a network for synchronized power delivery. The entire system can respond to load fluctuations within milliseconds while maintaining continuous, stable power transmission. Meanwhile, the grid upgrade proceeded concurrently with corporate operations, ensuring uninterrupted power supply during construction without any perceived disruption to businesses.
"During the power grid upgrade and renovation, our production lines continued operating normally without any power outages or shutdowns, ensuring highly reliable electricity supply and giving businesses greater peace of mind," said representatives from multiple companies in the park, praising the power supply assurance efforts.
The implementation of the grid optimization project has effectively balanced regional line load distribution and addressed deficiencies in power transfer capacity, providing robust electricity support for stable production and improved efficiency across enterprises in the park.
For the next step, State Grid Huzhou Power Supply Company will continue to optimize the power supply guarantee model combining live-line operations with mobile generator units, expand application scenarios for complex live-line work, and implement robust measures — including ensuring uninterrupted power supply, delivering superior services, and strengthening safeguards — to support high-tech industry development, striving tirelessly to secure reliable electricity supply during the summer peak demand period.
