Moroccan official highlights cooperation during tour in Sichuan
Mohammed Ouzzine, deputy speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, finished a three-day visit to Sichuan province on Tuesday, during which he observed advancements in agriculture, technology, and conservation, and spoke about cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
Ouzzine's itinerary included an agricultural machinery cooperative, the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and a humanoid robot innovation center in Chengdu, the provincial capital. He also watched Sichuan opera face-changing and tea art performances and learned about Shu embroidery at Kuanzhai Alley, one of the city's landmarks.
"This trip offers a window into understanding China," Ouzzine said, when speaking about the warmth, hospitality, and innovative spirit of the Chinese people.
He pointed to the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative as reflecting the country's commitment to a people-centered approach and a vision for common global development. "China puts people at the core of its development," Ouzzine said. "By advancing human development, it drives national and social progress, which has continuously elevated its international standing."
Ouzzine spoke highly of the progress in agricultural mechanization and agricultural robot application he observed at the agricultural cooperative in Guanghan. "Agriculture is a pillar industry in Morocco, so we are very interested in strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China in smart agriculture and agricultural technological innovation," he said.
He also called for broader exchanges between the two countries in culture, education, and sports, saying the two peoples share a deep mutual affection despite the geographic distance between them.
Ouzzine stressed the role of young people in bilateral ties. "When young people visit each other's countries and share their experiences on social media, their impact on tourism promotion may be even greater than official channels," he said.
