China-EU trade benefits both consumers and suppliers, Foreign Ministry says
Products that meet the needs and are of good quality and low price will naturally be popular, and the trade structure between China and Europe is a natural outcome driven by market demand and based on complementary advantages, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Monday.
Mao made the remarks in response to reports that recent heatwaves in Europe have driven strong demand for Chinese-made products such as air conditioners and fans.
Facts have proved that in trade between China and Europe, consumers have gained benefits and suppliers have reaped profits, Mao said. It is impossible to force buying and selling; instead, it is a two-way street that benefits both sides, she added.
She expressed hope that the European side will view China-Europe economic and trade relations objectively, abandon the zero-sum mentality, and work together to promote mutually beneficial cooperation.
