China praises Honduran foreign minister's remarks upholding one-China principle
China expressed appreciation on Friday for the positive remarks of Honduran Foreign Minister Enrique Reina, who denied reports of contact between Honduras and the Taiwan region while reaffirming his country's adherence to the one-China principle.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a regular news briefing, stressing all "Taiwan independence" separatist attempts are doomed to fail.
Guo highlighted that since China and Honduras established diplomatic relations in 2023, bilateral ties have developed rapidly on the basis of the one-China principle, and practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results.
China stands ready to promote the continuous development of China-Honduras relations on the basis of the one-China principle, for the greater benefit of the two peoples, Guo added.
