WARSAW -- Two trains collided in Bialosliwie in west-central Poland on Thursday, leaving at least three people injured, according to local media reports.

The accident occurred at around 6 pm local time (1600 GMT) in the Greater Poland region, when a regional train collided with an intercity train in Bialosliwie. Approximately 200 passengers were on board the two trains.

The collision caused one carriage to derail, injuring at least three passengers. Emergency services remained at the scene as rescue and assessment operations continued.

Following the accident, rail services on the Pila-Bydgoszcz line were suspended. A spokesman for national railway infrastructure manager PKP PLK said services would resume only after inspections complete checks for potential track damage and any faults in the railway infrastructure.
