2 killed, 1 injured in Connecticut shooting
Two people were killed and another was injured in a shooting outside a bar in West Haven, the US state of Connecticut, early Saturday morning, according to authorities. Officers arrived at a bar on Campbell Avenue at around 1:27 am local time after receiving a report of gunshots, West Haven police said. Three people were found with gunshot wounds outside the bar, two of whom were pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. The roads near the scene were blocked for more than nine hours after the shooting. Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. An investigation was underway.

Over 900 Ebola cases, 247 deaths reported
The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo has risen to 956, including 247 deaths, according to the latest situation report released on Saturday by the country's health authorities. Twenty-three new confirmed cases, including two deaths, were reported on Friday in the provinces of Ituri and North Kivu. Ituri remains the epicenter of the outbreak, with 874 confirmed cases and 201 deaths, accounting for more than 91 percent of the country's confirmed cases. A total of 92 patients have recovered, while 361 patients were in isolation or hospitalized. The outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo strain, was declared by the DR Congo authorities on May 15.
