Beijing E-Town to provide diverse and upgraded scenarios for embodied intelligence robots
Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, also known as Beijing E-Town, aims to provide diverse and upgraded application scenarios for embodied intelligence robots, Li Quan, deputy director of the administrative committee of Beijing E-Town, said.
"The development zone is beefing up efforts to offer a variety of scenarios, including government services, urban governance, industrial production, medical care, gardening, underwater rescue, commercial services, education, and power inspection," Li said, during the "Vibrant China" media tour on Friday.
On April 19, E-Town hosted the 2026 Beijing E-Town Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon, where over 100 humanoid robots competed, indicating the industry's ability to rigorously test the performance and functionality of humanoid robots in real-world settings.
As the capital's central hub for high-end and sophisticated industries and the permanent venue for the World Robot Conference, E-Town is home to over 300 renowned robotics and embodied intelligence companies.
The area has also attracted prominent startups like Galaxea Dynamics and XYZ Embodied AI, leading robot manufacturers such as Xiaomi Robot and Ubtech, and key component firms like Benmo Power and RobStride Dynamics.
