Chinese mainland stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.12 percent to 4098.64 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.8 percent higher at 15861.89 points.
Railways fully ensure grain transport
Chinese railway operators are bolstering the smooth transport of grain, whose procurement entered a peak period in May. At Shentou Station of Shuozhou Train Operation Depot under China Railway Taiyuan Group, staffers opened a green channel to more accurately allocate empty vehicles and achieve rapid loading. Fully utilizing its role as a second-class freight hub, it called on its employees to respond well to the tight schedule and large batches of grain.
