Ex-UN diplomat: China-US cooperation holds enormous potential

"China-US relations stand as the most vital bilateral tie of the 21st century, and joint efforts by the two sides can generate far-reaching transformative influences across the globe," said Siddharth Chatterjee, former UN resident coordinator in China and now CEO of Global Neighbours.

Having served 30 years at the United Nations, Chatterjee said he has witnessed firsthand the huge potential of China-US cooperation.

Chatterjee made the remarks at the Symposium on the Future of China-US Relations co-hosted by the Opinion Channel of China Daily, the Institute of American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Chinese Association of American Studies, in Beijing on Thursday.
