Escalation of military threats denounced

Washington's threats of military aggression against Cuba have reached a "dangerous and unprecedented level", Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Saturday. During a speech in Florida on Friday, US President Donald Trump said the United States would be "taking over" Cuba "almost immediately". "The US president is escalating his threats of military aggression against Cuba to a dangerous and unprecedented level," Diaz-Canel wrote on X. He called on the international community to take a stance on whether they would allow "such a drastic criminal act" to serve the interests of a small but wealthy and influential group seeking revenge and domination.

Evacuation warnings issued in Lebanon

The Israeli military issued an urgent warning on Sunday to residents of 11 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, urging them to evacuate their homes and move at least 1,000 meters away to openareas. The military said it was conducting operations against Hezbollah following what it described as a violation of their ceasefire deal. Four people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Sunday, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.
