Beijing issues warning over Japanese militarism

The rampant and dangerous spread of neo-militarism in Japan poses real threats, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Beijing has said, adding that countries in the region, including China, must not allow any force to undermine peace and stability.
No matter how eloquent its rhetoric may be, Japan's push for constitutional revision, ease of restrictions on the export of lethal weapons, deployment of offensive missiles, and expansion in its military budget reveals its real intention of paving the way for military expansion, Guo Jiakun said on Friday.
Countries in the region, including China, must stay on high alert and must not allow Japanese militarism to be revived, or allow the tragedies of history to be repeated, Guo added.
