NEW YORK -- At least 10 people were injured on Thursday in a shooting at the food court of a shopping mall in Baton Rouge, the US state of Louisiana, police said.
"Two groups of people got into an argument inside the food court and started shooting at each other," Baton Rouge Police Chief Thomas Morse Jr. said. "Unfortunately, there were some innocent people that were in the area that might have also caught some rounds."
The wounded were taken to local hospitals, Morse said. Two sustained severe injuries that require surgery.
The incident took place at around 1:22 pm local time at the Mall of Louisiana, the police chief said, adding that "there is no known threat to the public."
