The Beijing team handles the cross-breeding itself and the search for useful wild plant samples.
The British expert said the cooperation offers a valuable chance to work with Chinese plants, which he described as having outstanding germplasm and genetic potential. He added that China holds a central place in the plant world, especially as the home of clematis.
