Trump says 'may stop by Cuba' after Iran

US President Donald Trump threatened again on Monday that Cuba would be Washington's next target following actions on Venezuela and Iran. "We may stop by Cuba after we're finished with this," Trump told reporters at the White House, referring to the US-Israeli conflict against Iran, which started on Feb 28. Trump also repeated his previous assertions that Cuba is a "failing nation". Days after launching the war with Iran, Trump threatened that Cuba is going to "fall pretty soon" but his administration will focus on the ongoing conflict with Iran "right now".

Berlin cuts fuel taxes to ease price surge

Germany on Monday unveiled a temporary cut in fuel taxes to ease pressure from surging energy prices driven by Middle East tensions, but economists warned the relief would be modest and risk adding to fiscal pressures. Under the plan, energy taxes on petrol and diesel will be reduced by around 17 euro cents (20 US cents) per liter for two months, according to a government statement, though the start date has yet to be specified. The government estimated the measure will result in around 1.6 billion euros ($1.9 billion) in lost revenue.

Yoon, wife appear in court after 9 months

Former South Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife appeared in court together on Tuesday for the first time in nine months, Yonhap News Agency reported. The Seoul Central District Court held a hearing on charges that Yoon violated the Political Funds Act. His wife, Kim Keon-hee, attended the hearing as a witness. It marked the couple's first meeting since July 2025, when Yoon was taken into custody. Yoon is accused of conspiring with his wife to obtain, on 58 occasions ahead of the 2022 presidential election, illegal public opinion poll results free of charge from a political broker and using them to influence campaign activities.
