KMT chairperson leads mainland visit after a decade

On April 8, Cheng Li-wun, chairwoman of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) party, led a KMT delegation to pay homage to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing. This marks the first time in a decade that a KMT chairperson has led a delegation to the Chinese mainland.

At a time of growing global uncertainty, strengthening cross-Strait communication and cooperation, and maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, reflect the shared aspirations of people on both sides.

Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. The Taiwan question is, at its core, a family matter — one that should be resolved through consultation among family members.
