China has imposed countermeasures on Keiji Furuya, a member of Japan's House of Representatives, effective immediately, over his repeated visits to Taiwan, despite China's strong opposition, and collusion with "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.

Such actions seriously violate the one-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, constitute a gross interference in China's internal affairs, and seriously undermine China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to an official press release on Monday.

Under China's Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law, Beijing will freeze any movable, immovable and other assets he holds within China, bar individuals and organizations in the country from doing business or cooperating with him, and deny him a visa and entry, including to Hong Kong and Macao.
