Atsushi Koketsu, professor emeritus at Yamaguchi University in Japan, said that the "pre-emptive" strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran violate international law.

He pointed out that Tokyo has consistently acted on the basis of "adhering to international law," and warned that fully aligning with the US could undermine Japan's image as a peaceful nation.
