Firepower strike drill conducted
A long-range artillery subunit of the Korean People's Army of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the western area conducted a firepower strike drill on Saturday, the Korean Central News Agency reported on Sunday. The drill involved 12 600mm-caliber ultraprecision multiple rocket launchers and two artillery companies, the report said. Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, observed the firepower strike drill on the spot. The launched rockets hit the island target about 364.4 kilometers away in the eastern waters off the Korean Peninsula, according to the report.

Polls open for 16th National Assembly
Vietnam opened polls on Sunday to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly and members of People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-31 term, Vietnam News Agency reported. Polling stations nationwide opened at 7 am and closed at 7 pm, with nearly 79 million voters casting their ballots. Voters would elect 500 deputies to the 16th National Assembly from 864 candidates, while also voting for members of People's Councils at the commune and provincial levels. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said the election results must be announced no later than March 25, Vietnam News Agency reported.
