ISLAMABAD - At least 10 security officials and 37 militants were killed when security forces repulsed coordinated terrorist attacks in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, security sources said on Saturday.

The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) launched simultaneous attacks early in the morning at more than a dozen locations, including Quetta, Noshki and Gwadar districts, the sources told Xinhua.

The attacks were aimed at security installations and government targets, the sources added.

Pakistan's armed forces, frontier corps and Balochistan police responded swiftly, foiling the militants' plans after intense exchanges of fire, the sources said.

Several security personnel were also injured in the clashes, according to officials.

Security sources said that over the past 48 hours, a total of 88 terrorists have been killed across the region.

Sanitization operations are ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants and restore full security, the sources said.
