Inside domestic cosmetics brand Kans' smart factory
How many bottles of lotion can a smart factory produce per day? For domestic beauty brand Kans, the answer is 3.5 million.
With an investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($172.8 million), the brand's smart factory is the first artificial intelligence-empowered, unmanned factory among domestic cosmetics brands, according to Kans, which spent 400 million yuan to upgrade its smart devices.
Currently, the 12 fully automated production lines in the factory have reduced manual operations by 75 percent across the board, achieving unmanned operations from packaging material transportation to product filling.
The intelligent workshop of the factory covers an area of 20,000 square meters and can achieve a daily production capacity of 2 million bottles and a full-process AI production.
The intelligent workshop enables 24-hour uninterrupted material supply, a zero-error logistics network, zero manual operation throughout the filling process, and 20 product defect screenings per second. There are 42 groups of industrial robots that complete 252,000 standardized operations per day.
The intelligent logistics scheduling system truly achieves a closed-loop process from start to finish, using AI algorithms to refresh the quality control standards for beauty and cosmetics products, according to the company.
