Valentino illuminates the Year of the Horse
To Jane's "A Thousand Trees Blooming at Night" conveys the imagery of "a million flowers flickering in the sky": ten horses with different personalities meet beneath a tree of fireworks, their silhouettes projected onto a translucent surface using principles similar to shadow puppetry. The "V" shape serves as the structural prototype for the electronic fireworks container, supported by elements inspired by "horse hooves" in traditional Chinese furniture. The aim is to construct a layered sense of imagination and place.
Li Haozhe's "Dream Through the Window" invites audiences to stand before a suspended window frame and draw their dreams by extending their hands into the space. This canvas aggregates the audience's dream drawings, forming a continuously evolving scroll. The dreams drawn by the audience are no longer isolated islands; individual dreams merge into a collective landscape of lines, transforming private expressions into a shared visual experience.
