Foreign Ministry slams hyping of 'Chinese spying'

China's Foreign Ministry slammed on Thursday the so-called Chinese spy hype, following reports that a French professor had been charged with espionage for allowing a Chinese delegation to visit sensitive sites.
He was arrested in February 2025, according to reports.
The ministry's spokeswoman Mao Ning said she opposes smears against China.
