Fiscal, financial policies urged to boost demand
Premier Li Qiang presided over an executive meeting of the State Council, China's Cabinet, on Friday, with a key focus on deploying coordinated fiscal and financial policies to stimulate domestic demand.
The meeting called for optimizing the implementation of interest subsidy policies for loans to services providers, and for personal consumption loans to boost consumer spending.
It also urged measures to support private investment, such as implementing interest subsidy policies for loans to small and medium-sized enterprises, and establishing a special guarantee program for private investment.
Other key topics on the meeting's agenda included studying the provision of basic public services based on the place of residence, and reviewing and approving the revised draft of regulations on nature reserves.
Vice-premier meets Disney CEO
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang met with Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, in Beijing on Friday.
Noting that China's economy is deeply integrated into the world economy, Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the more China develops, the more benefits all parties will receive.
Ding said that the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has outlined the blueprint for China's development over the next five years.
"We will steadfastly promote high-quality development, expand high-standard opening-up and continuously optimize the business environment," said Ding.
Iger said Disney is confident in China's development, and will continue to expand its investment in China and better promote exchanges between the United States and China.
