China's consumption market still possesses significant potential, with the key lying in enhancing residents' consumption capacity and willingness, stated Zhou Mi, senior researcher at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, in an exclusive interview with China Perspective.

He emphasized that measures such as building "15-minute convenience shopping circles" and developing rural e-commerce aim to create better and higher-quality consumption infrastructure and environment. More importantly, he stressed the need to increase residents' disposable income. "We have many issues like the social security, and also some of the worries of welfare. People are thinking about education, the hospitals, retirement, many of these issues, we are trying to address these problems by the combination of the government efforts and also the enterprises together."
