90-day nationwide emergency declared
Chairman of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Rashad al-Alimi on Tuesday declared a 90-day nationwide state of emergency, citing the need to safeguard national security and public order. The declaration came after Saudi warplanes carried out airstrikes targeting the port of Mukalla in Yemen's southeastern oil-rich province of Hadramout, a local security official told Xinhua. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that several strikes hit the port area, with loud explosions heard in and around the facility. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Saudi-led coalition conducted a "limited" military operation targeting weapons and combat vehicles unloaded at the port of Mukalla.

Drug boat loading area in Venezuela hit
President Donald Trump said on Monday that the US had "hit" an area in Venezuela where boats are loaded with drugs, marking the first known time Washington has carried out land operations in Venezuela since a pressure campaign began against President Nicolas Maduro's government."There was a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs," Trump said. "We hit all the boats, and now we hit the area …it's the implementation area. That's where they implement." It was not immediately clear what target was hit nor which part of the US government acted. Asked if the CIA had carried out the attack, Trump said: "I don't want to say that. I know exactly who it was but I don't want to say who it was."
