PARIS -- Several Eurostar trains were delayed or canceled on Tuesday after a power supply problem in the Channel Tunnel.

Since Tuesday morning, several trains have been delayed by up to two hours, while return journeys between London and Paris and between London and Brussels have been canceled. Operator Getlink cited "a power supply problem in the Channel Tunnel" and "a technical problem on a Le Shuttle train," French news channel BFMTV reported.

"Customers are advised to postpone their journey if possible, as free exchanges are available," Getlink added in its statement released Tuesday, a day before New Year's Eve.
