As early winter arrives, dawn redwood forests glow with shades of red and gold at a wetland in Dianwei village of Kunming, Yunnan province. Shrouded in morning mist, the trees merge with low clouds to create a striking landscape, according to local outlet Yunnan.cn.

Dianwei village is upstream of Dianchi Lake, within the Songhua Dam Water Protection Zone.

In recent years, local authorities have been planting dawn redwood trees and other vegetation to create forest and grass buffer zones. These efforts enhance the wetland's functions in water purification and biodiversity maintenance.
