Named CMA CGM Vendome, the ship, which was delivered on December 12, arrives eight and a half months ahead of schedule. It is also the third vessel of its kind that Hudong-Zhonghua has delivered to CMA CGM, each with a capacity of 24,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), according to the Shanghai-based shipyard.
Measuring 399 meters in length and 61.3 meters in width, the dual-fuel powered container ship reduces emissions of sulphur and fine particles by 99 percent, nitrogen oxides by 85 percent, and carbon dioxide by about 20 percent compared with conventional vessels.
