Al-Sabah royal collection of Kuwait debuts at Guangdong Museum
An exhibit featuring art and cultural pieces from the Al-Sabah royal collection of Kuwait opened on Tuesday at a museum in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.
The Splendors of the Al-Sabah Collection from Kuwait will run until March next year at the Guangdong Museum, according to the exhibit's organizers. It brings together over 200 pieces from the Al-Sabah royal collection for the first time to demonstrate the evolution of art from Mesopotamia to the Silk Road.
The event is organized into four sections themed around bronze and stone, imperial splendor, Greek glory, and Persian brilliance to showcase dialogue between civilizations.
Many of the featured artifacts are extremely rare. Some belong to the last remaining numbers of their kind, and several dozen pieces are being exhibited internationally for the first time.
