Experts call for more confidence in economy

Chinese experts have called on people to grasp the general trend of development and enhance confidence in economic victory. Speaking during the recent Economic Prospects Forum 2025 annual meeting in Beijing hosted by China Economic Times, Zhang Shunxi, deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, said in understanding high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, it is vital to recognize the general trend of development and enhance confidence in victory. Participants also urged to build a strong domestic market, and increase people's incomes. They noted that by deepening reform and opening-up, China will contribute to the stable growth of the global economy.

Gas turbine boosts power supply

An 843-megawatt gas turbine was officially connected to the grid recently in East China's Zhejiang province, after completing a 168-hour full-load trial run. The unit, the first of two at the China Energy Investment Corp Co Ltd plant in Anji county, achieves a remarkable efficiency rate of 64.15 percent, representing an approximately 17 percentage point increase over conventional million-kilowatt coal-fired units.
