Doctors return to a warm welcome in Gambia after six-month training in Liaoning
After concluding a six-month short-term training program at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University in Shenyang, Liaoning province, Karamba Suwareh and Salifu Gaye returned to Gambia on Monday.
The two obstetricians and gynecologists from Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul, capital of Gambia, received a warm welcome from Abdoulie Keita, director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the hospital, Lin Lin, the leader of the 23rd Chinese medical team aiding Gambia, and team representatives, along with their family members, at the airport in Banjul.
"The training has been immensely significant for me," said Suwareh. "China is at the forefront of technology in the fields of laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, which are essential core skills for surgeons and are becoming increasingly critical with the advancement of medicine."
