State Grid Xuzhou Simplifies EV Charger Applications with New 'One Certificate per Community' Service
"I didn't need to visit the property office or make repeated phone calls—just a few taps on my phone and the application was complete. This service is exceptionally convenient!" said Mr. Jiang, a resident of Wenyun Community in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, after successfully submitting an application for an electric vehicle (EV) charger installation through the "State Grid Online” app. He became the first beneficiary of the new "one certificate per community" service model launched by State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Company and praised the convenience and efficiency of the upgraded process.
With the rapid increase in new energy vehicles, demand for residential EV chargers has surged. Under the traditional 'one charger, one certificate" model, each applicant had to individually coordinate with their property management office to obtain a construction consent letter. This often resulted in repeated communication, delays, and complications stemming from property fee settlement, parking space ownership verification, and other issues—creating obstacles that hindered customer-friendly service and strained coordination between property offices and the power supply company.
To address this challenge, State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Company focused on resolving customers' pressing concerns and improving the business environment by streamlining the documentation process for EV charger installations. The company innovatively introduced the "one certificate per community" service model.
Piloted in Wenyun Community, the company proactively coordinated with the property office and conducted a unified on-site inspection of power capacity, parking layout, and cable routes. After confirming that the community met the conditions for batch EV charger access, the property office issued a single "Letter of Consent for EV Charger Installation", which was filed with the power supply company. This certificate now serves as the required proof for all future EV charger applications within the community—eliminating the need for each resident to obtain property approval individually.
The new model significantly reduces repetitive work for property managers, resolves coordination difficulties during site inspections and construction, and provides residents with a more seamless application experience. Customer satisfaction with power supply services has further improved, achieving a win–win outcome for residents, property management offices, and the power supply company.
