New soccer pitch inspires girls at Ningxia primary school

Under the initiative, Alipay pledged to fund one stadium for rural girls' soccer for every match played by the national team during the Games.
The reaction from the students was instant. The girls rushed across the new turf to get a feel for the upgrade.
"The children used to fall and scrape their skin on the concrete playground all the time. We felt terrible," said Ma Jinhu, the school's physical education teacher. "When construction began, the students and I checked the site almost every day and hoped it would finish sooner. Now it's finally here and it's amazing."
