Pirot carpets, known for their rich geometric motifs and distinctive color combinations, evoke the landscapes and cultural memory of the Balkan Peninsula. By contrast, Beijing palace carpets feature grand, auspicious patterns and exquisite techniques, such as cut-pile weaving and gold and silver couching, reflecting the splendor of the ancient imperial court and aspirations for good fortune.

Displayed side by side, the two traditions create a vivid cultural dialogue within the compact exhibition space.

During the event, the two experts shared insights on inheritance, innovation, and the cultural significance of their crafts.

Xue traced the history and ritual importance of palace carpets, highlighting contemporary efforts to preserve and modernize the technique. Tatjana guided visitors into the world of Pirot carpets, emphasizing their role as a national heritage and an important symbol in Serbia's cultural exchange with the world.

The speakers agreed that the art of weaving offers a unique way to strengthen people-to-people ties, noting that the event reflects the enduring "ironclad friendship" between China and Serbia. International guests from Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Republic of the Congo also joined the event.
