China strictly adhering to China-US trade agreement: commerce ministry

China is strictly adhering to the consensus reached during the China-US economic and trade consultations in Kuala Lumpur and proceeding with the implementation of relevant measures, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

He Yongqian, spokeswoman for the ministry, made the remarks when responding to questions about news reports that China and the United States are still negotiating key details regarding the "general license" for rare earth exports.

As one of the outcomes of the China-US trade talks in Kuala Lumpur, China agreed to suspend the implementation of relevant export control measures announced on Oct 9 for one year and will study and refine specific plans, the ministry said in late October.
