China urges Dutch action on Nexperia case
China has called on the Netherlands to take concrete action and move swiftly to secure an early resolution of the Nexperia issue, after the Netherlands suspended an administrative order against Nexperia, a Chinese‑owned semiconductor company based in the country, according to a statement released by China's Ministry of Commerce on late Wednesday.
China welcomes the Dutch move as "a first step in the right direction" toward a proper resolution of the issue. However, it cautioned that this falls short of addressing the root cause — the need to fully revoke the administrative order, said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce.
Following two rounds of face-to-face consultations in Beijing on Tuesday and Wednesday over the Nexperia dispute, Chinese officials stressed that the responsibility for the disruption in global semiconductor industrial and supply chains "lies squarely with the Dutch side", said the statement.
