Consolidation center reduces costs for small-batch exporters in Guizhou
A new logistics hub in Guizhou province handled more than 100 million yuan ($14.09 million) in import-export value within two months of opening, helping small-batch, multi-product exporters reduce shipping costs.
The Guizhou International Consolidation and Distribution Center collects frequent, small consignments from multiple exporters and consolidates them into larger shipments for export. That lowers per-unit transport costs and simplifies customs procedures and paperwork.
"Our small-batch exports are much easier and less costly," said Zhang Peng, general manager of a used-car exporter in Guiyang and one of the first companies to benefit. "Lower logistics costs and faster dispatch have improved our cash flow and market competitiveness."
For cross-border transport, the center offers multimodal services such as rail-to-sea, road-to-rail, and air-to-land combinations to link China with Europe, Central Asia, and ASEAN members. Exporters can choose the route that best balances cost and transit time.
More than 20 exporters have used the center to ship Guizhou products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, home appliances, semiconductor chips, and tires.
