US double standards laid bare

The US has refused to attend a United Nations review of its own human rights record — joining only one other country in history to do so: Israel. Why publish annual "human rights reports" pointing fingers at others, yet not even face a routine review itself? This speaks volumes about American-style double standards.
And its hegemonic and unilateral actions are on full display worldwide. In the name of "fighting drugs", US forces have recently launched strikes on about 20 vessels in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, killing at least 76 people. Meanwhile, its unwavering support for Israel continues to worsen the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
The so-called "beacon of human rights" has dimmed — exposing the hypocrisy behind the rhetoric.
