Dance for yourself with Tao Dance Theater in Beijing
"Here, art returns to its most essential medium: the body. You can be a participant or a witness. Sit and daydream, lie down and watch the clouds, or embark on an improvisational exploration guided by facilitators," according to the theater.
"There are no standard answers, no judgments of beauty or ugliness — only genuine moments are encouraged. It seeks to relieve us of our habitual psychological burdens, allowing you to rediscover that the body is, in itself, the most moving work of art."
Running until Dec 7, The World of Movements is the prelude to the first Beijing Art and Technology Week, which will take place from Nov 28 to Dec 7 in the 798 Art District.
Incorporating more than 50 themed exhibits, forums, concerts, and AI-created theater and dance works, the week-long event aims to turn the popular art destination into a fun, accessible, and future-oriented smart living space, and make it this winter's most vibrant urban cultural landmark in Beijing, according to the organizers.
