Curious Animals, an ongoing exhibition at the 798 International Art Exchange Center in Beijing's 798 Art Zone, teams up five artists from China and Australia whose works in various media engage the audience in re-examining humans' fixed perspectives of animals, whether they have been domesticated or are living in the wild.
On display are prints, oil paintings, watercolors on paper and digital art that zoom in on animal behaviors, some of which have been used as metaphors to embody meanings, both positive and negative. They ask the audience to think about the symbolism, and try to see human society from the perspective of animals, which may inspire them to think differently about the status of humans in the world.
