Shanghai's large retailers seal deals with global brands at CIIE
Shanghai Trading Group's large retailers sealed procurement deals with global brands at a sideline event of the 8th China International Import Expo on Nov 8.
Manufacturers and brand representatives from countries and regions around the world represented a wide range of industries, including food, cosmetics, and medical devices.
Wu Zhengping, deputy head of the CIIE Bureau, said at the signing ceremony that the Large Retail Purchaser Alliance, as a key part of the trading group, has been actively connecting domestic and international markets.
He expressed hope that member enterprises could leverage the CIIE to bring more premium international goods and services to the Chinese market and contribute to building Shanghai into an international consumption center.
Pu Shaohua, president of Bailian Group, said that since the beginning of the 8th CIIE, intended deals have been agreed for 54 projects, 25 of which were signed on-site.
This year, three new enterprises, Bailian Outlets Qingpu, Hotmaxx, and M&G Life, joined the alliance, bringing its membership from 21 to 43 since it was established in 2018.
Bailian's subsidiary enterprises reached preliminary agreements on 28 projects, with 13 signed collectively at the ceremony.
Key partnerships include Bailian's retail arm with leading cosmetic giants like L'Oreal, Estee Lauder, and Shiseido.
Other subsidiaries, such as Lianhua Supermarkets Holdings, No.1 Pharmacy, and Sanlian Group, have also secured deals with global brands including PepsiCo, Yihai Kerry, and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care.
