Beijing conference charts future of international student experience

As international education continues to evolve, industry leaders gathered at the Funliving Global Partner Conference 2025 in Beijing to call for greater collaboration and service innovation in shaping the future of international student living.

The event, themed "Partner · Play · Progress", brought together major purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) providers, universities and education organizations from around the world.

Discussions focused on how international student housing providers can expand in China by integrating cultural understanding, digital engagement and service innovation.

Tony Li, CEO of Tomato Education International, outlined the company's vision for strengthening international collaboration and improving student well-being. Subsequent speakers discussed global education trends and the growing role of data-driven innovation in student mobility.

A lively panel discussion explored challenges faced by Chinese students before and after their arrival in the UK, with representatives from the British Council, University of Nottingham and other institutions emphasizing the need for holistic support — academically, emotionally and socially.

Experts agreed that, in China's dynamic and resilient international education market, stronger collaboration and innovation are essential to enhance the global competitiveness of the student living sector.

Funliving representatives said the company will continue to promote global partnerships and innovation in international student accommodation and education services.
