Lenovo unveiled its upgraded Tianxi AI 3.5 system in Beijing on Friday, reflecting the increasing integration of artificial intelligence in Chinese consumer electronics. The system extends Lenovo's AI ecosystem to PCs, tablets, smartphones and smart glasses.

The Tianxi AI 3.5 features a personal AI agent capable of perceiving, remembering, planning and executing tasks through cloud-edge collaboration.

"It enables a seamless, unified experience across devices while safeguarding user data with Lenovo's proprietary security framework," said Zhang Hua, senior vice-president of Lenovo Group and general manager of its China Consumer Business Group.

The system has also received the "Excellent Level" certification for generative AI security from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

Alongside the AI system, Lenovo introduced the Moto X70 Air AI smartphone. The device weighs 159 grams, measures 5.99 millimeters thick, and is equipped with a 50-megapixel AI camera system and military-grade durability.

Omdia data show that Chinese manufacturers including Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi have taken the lead in introducing on-device AI assistants and applications since 2024. According to Omdia, AI-capable PCs accounted for 30 percent of global shipments in the second quarter of 2025, with Lenovo holding a 21 percent market share.

Education-oriented devices have emerged as a key growth driver for Chinese brands in overseas markets. Lenovo's shipments in the first half of 2025 rose 27 percent year-on-year, while Asus reported a 43 percent increase, reflecting strong growth in the global education segment.

Ahead of the Singles Day shopping festival, Lenovo announced a series of discount programs, including trade-in subsidies and student offers of up to 4,000 yuan ($562).
