China weighs export waivers for eligible tech shipments amid Nexperia scrutiny
China will consider granting export exemptions to eligible shipments after conducting a comprehensive review of companies' actual circumstances, the Ministry of Commerce said on Saturday, in response to media questions regarding Nexperia, a Chinese-owned semiconductor company based in the Netherlands.
China had previously responded to media inquiries on the matter, emphasizing that the Dutch government's undue interference in corporate internal affairs has disrupted global industrial and supply chains, a ministry spokesperson said in an online statement.
The official added that, as a responsible major country, China fully considers the security and stability of both domestic and global supply chains.
The Ministry of Commerce is also encouraging companies facing practical difficulties to promptly communicate with the ministry or with local commerce authorities for a comprehensive assessment of their actual situations before granting export exemptions to those that meet relevant conditions.
