Founded over 1,700 years ago, Xinshi ancient town became home to the Zi Huayun Dance Art Museum last June. The museum is established in memorial of the notable Chinese dancer Zi Huayun (1936-2014), who is widely known for stage works such as Flying Apsaras and The Legend of White Peacock, as well as her academic work The Choreoecology.
Zi Leilei, Zi's daughter and chief planner of the festival, said that dance art can bridge people across time and space. She hopes to share her passion for dance art with the public through such events, and share the joy and vibrancy of dance.
